All in One SEO (AIOSEO) WordPress plugin has introduced Link Assistant add-on to help bloggers improve their page rankings through internal page linking.
AIOSEO Link Assistant
Link Assistant is an add-on that is currently only available for AIOSEO Pro and Elite plans. Once added, Link Assistant provides internal page linking suggestions. You will also be able to see the most linked external domains, most linked internal pages/posts, and pages that have no internal links.
You can choose to remove all external links for a specific domain with just one click. This is important if you are being penalized by search engines for linking to spammy websites.
How page linking suggestion works
AIOSEO has a memory of all your content. Once it detects phrases being used similar to a page or post that you had written before, it provides suggestions for your to link to the page/post. You can choose to link to the page by clicking add link button or ignore the suggestion.
Internal page linking is important for ranking because it helps search engines discover and crawl pages faster.
Additional feature
Apart from Link Assistant, version 4.1.6 of AIOSEO comes with a headline analyzer tool that helps in creating link-worthy headlines for your blog posts.
