The meta tag <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1" /> is used to make sure that a web page is reduced or increased to correctly fit a devices’ screen.

  • width=device-width: is used to reduce the width of the page to fit the device that is being used
  • initial-scale=1: sets the initial zoom level to that of the device.

The viewport meta tag is added inside the head section of every web page.
