what does it mean by hidden images in a web page

Hidden images are those images that are not visible to users but still load when a page is accessed. They are hidden through the display none CSS property.

For page performance purposes, it is recommended that you completely remove images from a page if they have no use. Hiding them is the wrong way of doing it.
