A web developer posted a tweet in which he revealed that Bluehost does not offer LiteSpeed and Nginx webserver support on shared hosting. This is not a hidden secret but it is something that website owners who are worried about speed might be concerned about.
BlueHost web server support
BlueHost has indicated on their website that they do not support Nginx. Although they have not mentioned LightSpeed, we went digging and found out that they also do not support it on shared hosting. However, if you are on VPS or Dedicated Hosting, you can install Nginx or LightSpeed web server, but you will be responsible for updates and maintenance.
What does this mean?
Nginx and LiteSpeed web servers are known to be fast and can make a difference when it comes to website load speed. LightSpeed is even faster (check third-party speed test stats). Therefore, if you cannot afford BlueHost VPS or Dedicated hosting, it means that there is no way you can use LiteSpeed webserver.

NOT 1: LightSpeed web server free license allows up to 2GB of memory per domain. The lowest-paid plan begins at $10 monthly for 8 GB Memory. Due to cost implications, many hosting providers choose not to support LightSpeed.
NOTE 2: LightSpeed has an open-source version (OpenLiteSpeed) which is 100% free, however, OpenLiteSpeed is not supported on WHM/Cpanel. Only LightSpeed can work on Cpanel.
