I’m in Australia and noticed I now had the option to lock my profile. Having said that housemate can’t. I thought it might have been he was running a different version but nope. So not sure why I can.

What model do you and your friend have

Seems to me, and anyone would think, that the countries that were more vulnerable to being scammed would be the ones to be able to lock their profile’s.
cj says
yes scammers countries listed ,that countries must not allowed to lock their profile even you search in google the highest scammers in the world
DJ says
What about the country that hosts all the scammers around the world?? UK 😉
JF says
You got proof to back that outrageous accusation up big boy or you just going with what the media tell you? I come from the UK and we do NOT host the most amount of scammers. I am serve in the police here in a cyber crime division so I think I know what I am talking about. If you actually do your due diligence and research genius you will find that it is primarily West African countries such as Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, and Ghana and then South Africa in Southern Africa have also become a part of that list. Then Asian countries such as India, Bangladesh and China.
Would you like to sprout anything else of ignorance while you’re about it?
DO says
We get a huge amount of scamming in the UK from West African states. Either FB does a better job of policing them, or they allow us to protect ourselves. India allows profile locking because of the outrageous amount of sexual harassment/stalking which is endemic there (Eve teasing)

“I am serve in the police”
If you are in the police, then we are all doomed. No wonder so many officers are getting arrested.
Furthermore, DJ is correct.
You have either misunderstood his comment or are simply an idiot. I suspect the latter.
UK is one of the leading hosting providers to scam websites and organisations. While these scams mainly operate out of Western Africa and Asia, their fake websites are more often or not hosted by a UK / US company.
As someone falsely claiming to be part of the polices cyber security, you would surely understand the difference between hosting locations and where the crime occurs?

Sit down and shut up. You can always spot bullshit artists looking for attention by “….I should know, I’m xxx”. You can’t even write correctly and expect us to believe you serve in uniform. Go blow your bullshit somewhere else.
Alicia says

Wmonita says
Can’t lock in America either. Funny how only the places that scam everyone else can lock. Good to know scammers are protected better than we are.
Nico says
I live in america and can’t lock my profile. Perhaps maybe using a VPN and switching to India will fix this?
JF says
I tried that once and it didn’t work, you’d think it would

A person with a locked profile is trying to add me on facebook. I noticed they live in Canada too, but Canada is not on the list. I can’t lock my profile. Also, I have my account set that only friends of friends can send a friend request. I see no mutual friends. How was he able to add me as a friend then. I will block immediately. Thank you for providing a list of countries that have this feature available.
JF says
Typical Facebook socialist elites, protecting the crime syndicates as always.
It would have made a lot more sense to protect countries that get scammed the most.

I’m getting so frustrated with mine I’ve tried multiple times to lock my account. I have an old account with my maiden name that I was able to lock. I did make that accessible in NZ. I don’t know if that makes a difference.
