Creating content with ChatGPT is easy and quick but the big question is whether such content can be monetized with Google Adsense without any consequences.
Google Adsense and ChatGPT Content
One of the requirements of monetizing your website with Google Adsense is that your content has to be unique. Therefore, the question you have to ask yourself, and which we will be discussing is whether content generated by AI tools like ChatGPT can be viewed to be duplicate or scraped
Why ChaptGPT content can be considered duplicate
If you ask ChatGPT “Who is Obama” (see this example), It will give you similar or closely related answers no matter how many times you repeat the same question. This means that thousands of bloggers who rely on ChatGPT AI to generate content for their blogs will have similar content if they ask the same question.
Google Adsense publisher policies state that Google Ads may not be placed on scraped content. This includes content that is slightly modified. Now that we have established that ChatGPT AI can generate similar content if asked the same question, then it means if Google crawlers identify that your website is publishing content in mass that is similar to another blog, your content may be considered scraped which can result in ads not being served on such pages.
Google has publicly stated that appropriate use of AI-generated content is not against its guidelines. However, your content should add value and be of high quality. You can use ChatGPT to research or come up with content ideas but not to generate, copy and publish it as it is.
