StackOverflow and StackExchange sites have been down for more than 4 hours affecting thousands of developers who rely on them for solving code problems.
StackOverflow Down
If you visit StackOverflow, you will be presented with an error message that reads “Stack Overflow is currently offline for maintenance”.
StackOverflow has acknowledged through its Status page that they are experiencing a problem. This is what they twitted,
“We’re aware something is happening, and we’re working on it. We’ve tried unplugging and plugging back in, but that didn’t fix it.”
Not only is Stackoveflow down, but its sister websites like stackexchange.com, serverfault.com, superuser.com, e.t.c.
Normally, when stack websites are down for scheduled maintenance, a read-only version will be available. However, that is not the case today. This points to a server problem or misconfiguration.
That is all we know for now.
UPDATE: Everything is back to normal.
