SUSE NeuVector open source journey
In October 2021, SUSE announced that it had acquired NeuVector, a software that delivers end-to-end security for containers.
On January 18th, 2022, SUSE announced that it is making NeuVector open source to make it the technology of choice for the open-source community and to increase trust in highly regulated industries. It will also help drive innovation in Kubernetes security.
The open-source version of NeuVector can be installed on any Kubernetes cluster. It will also be possible to install it from Rancher application catalogue in the future, (Rancher is a SUSE software that is used for managing multiple Kubernetes clusters).
Other container management platforms that NeuVector will support in the future include Red Hat OpenShift, Google GKE, Microsoft Azure AKS, Amazon EKS, etc.
